Right to Life Month

Psalm 139:13-18

 13 For you created my inmost being;
   you knit me together in my mother’s womb.
14 I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
   your works are wonderful,
   I know that full well.
15 My frame was not hidden from you
   when I was made in the secret place,
   when I was woven together in the depths of the earth.
16 Your eyes saw my unformed body;
   all the days ordained for me were written in your book
   before one of them came to be.
17 How precious to me are your thoughts,[a] God!
   How vast is the sum of them!
18 Were I to count them,
   they would outnumber the grains of sand—
   when I awake, I am still with you.

A Hotdog Love Affair

When we got Harper, we brought a couple toys to the breeder's house.  One of them was Mr. Hotdog.  We rubbed him all over her parents and brothers and sisters so that she could have their scent when she came home.  Eventually, she realized that Mr. Hotdog was ideal for biting and flinging around her head in a violent fashion.  She also eventually tore him apart.  But, her grandparents (my parents) gave her a new one for Christmas!  She loves him.  Finally, the two have been reunited.

Harper also got a new squirrel and "demon moose" (as Leck calls it) from her grandmother.  She loves these, but neither can compare to her new Mr. Hotdog.

One Year Later

Yesterday marked the 1 year anniversary of Leck and I getting engaged. I can't believe it has only been a year.  We got engaged at Oatlands Plantation and you may have heard the story that involves Ritz crackers, tape, a cowboy boot, and some leg hair lost that I did not hear about until later.  It was perfect.

Little Brother

I can't believe my little brother is 16.  In my mind he will always be 11, until he is 30.  Maybe then he will always be 16 in my mind.  He is the best brother a girl could ask for.  He is smart, caring, and puts up with my nagging and weirdness.  I remember waiting with eager anticipation for him to be born:

 It didn't hurt that I got a present in exchange for my "only child" status...

 Remember when he learned to lift his giant moon-head?

It was fun to have someone on family trips.

And dance with at family weddings...
 He's good at giving speeches.
 And good-looking I've been told.
And, he knows how to party!
